Eddie Lozano

July 12, 1938 - April 24, 2014

ANDERSON — Eddie “The Chief” Lozano, 75, of Anderson, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 24, 2014, at Community Hospital, Anderson.

He was born on July 12, 1938, in Elsa, Texas, and resided most of his life in Anderson.

He served his country overseas in the Army, where he was a boxer and a football player and was part of the Eminent Society of Border Legionnaires.

He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors.

He was a steadfast member of United Auto Workers Local 663, the American Legion, and the Bass Masters Club of America. He served on the Fair Practice Committee with the UAW 663. He valued education and loved fishing, gardening, boxing and spending time with his family.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dolores Lozano of Anderson; children, Ed L. (Bobbie Jo) Lozano Jr. and children, Isabella Grace and Sophia Faith of Decatur, Ill., Floyd (Dr. Patricia Christie) Lozano and child Jacquelyn Alexandra of Cambridge, Mass., and Monty P. Lozano and child Katelynn Renee of Anderson; siblings, Nick, Alex, Connie, Francis, Beatrice, and Eva.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Lozano; father, Jose Lozano; and siblings, Russel Lozano, Richard Lozano, David Lozano, and Joe Angel.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Sell officiating.

Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park, with military rites performed by the U.S. Army and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.
