RICE LAKE, Wis. — Richard Charles Platt, 89, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, died May 1, 2014, at Rawlins House Nursing Home in Pendleton after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to Raymond C. and Martha S. (Scharf) Platt.
He was a tool and die maker at DuPage Diecast most of his working life before retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Rice Lake.
Survivors include his children, Jeff Platt of Milwaukee, Wis., Karen (Tom) Hunter of Anderson, Ind., and Terry (Dorothy) Platt of Plymouth, Mass.; sister, Arlene (Leo) Rembowski of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; brother, Don (Pat) Platt of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Journey Platt, Jason, Mark (Jen), Tim (Carolyn) Hunter, Rachel (Matt) Rich and Leah (Tyler) Beard; eight great-grandchildren; and special friend, June Lihrman and family of Rice Lake, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Eunice.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service.
