ANDERSON — Margaret S. Craig, 96, of Anderson, went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, May 2, 2014, after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1918, in Randolph County, the daughter of late Rev. L.L. and Edith (Pritchard) Scantland. Margaret accepted the gift of salvation as a young woman, and later was an ordained pastor and evangelist with the National Association of Holiness Churches. She retired from Best Lock of Indianapolis in 1983.
Margaret is survived by her son, Gary A. (Shirley) Fisher of Alexandria; one sister and one brother, Ruth Plummer and Billy (Phyllis) Scantland; a daughter-in-law, Vera Fisher; a brother-in-law, Jim Cummings Sr.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred K. Craig, on Feb. 26, 2014; a daughter, Joanna King; two sons, John and Ronald Fisher; two brothers, Lawrence and Ed Scantland; three sisters, Francis Scantland, Mary Cummings and Virginia (Vernon) Smith; and a brother-in-law, Bill Plummer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Edgewater Woods and the Heartland Hospice for all their care and concerns.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Gary Klinger officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
