FISHERS — David E. Nicely, 46, of Fishers died May 15, 2014, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 26, 1967, in Anderson to Donald E. and Donna L. (Bowers) Nicely. He was a 1986 graduate of Anderson High School.
He worked production at Altek for a year, for C.V.S. for 11 years and United Armor for three years. He was an assistant leader of Boy Scouts of America. He loved the outdoors. He was an animal lover, especially of his dog Gracie. He just started doing woodworking. He was devoted to his family.
He attended St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Donald E. and Donna L. (Bowers) Nicely of Anderson; his partner of 18 years, Craig Deuser of Fishers; two sisters, Deborah (Gary) Nicely-Neal of Anderson and Deanna Nicely (Brian) Birky of Indianapolis; two nieces and a nephew, Doranda Nicely (Jeremy Key), Dawnielle (Ryan) Remington and Blake Neal; five great-nieces and nephews, Sydmund Felton, Connor Dean Remington, Brianna Remington, Lillian Nicely-Key and Olivia Nicely-Key, all of Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Maude Bowers and Harry and Mary Gertrude Nicely.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark of Chesterfield Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the ASPCA.
