ANDERSON — Roy W. Willis, 92, of Anderson, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 25, 1921, the son of Dallas and Anna Belle (Keen) Willis in Burkesville, Ky.
He served his country during World War II in the Army.
Roy was the owner/operator of Willis Oil in Anderson until his retirement in 1985. He also was a member of the Anderson Country Club and Innisbrook Golf Resort, Palm Harbor, Fla.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Jennie (Fred Adams) Steele of Chesterfield and Janet (Phil) Page of Anderson; grandchildren, Jeff McFadden, Greg McFadden, Amy (Jay) Goen-Smith and Stephanie (Justin) Roberson; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; loving companion, Judy Wagoner; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; “Leo” Margaret Willis, the mother who raised him; his wife, Ruby M. Willis; his son, Roy W. Willis, Jr.; his grandchildren, Bracken Steele and Richard Page; and his brother, James O. Willis.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Chaplain Mark Coffman officiating. Burial will follow immediately at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
