ANDERSON, Ind. —
Samuel T. Frye, 72, of Anderson, passed away May 24, 2013, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born April 18, 1941, in Muncie, to Ted and Catherine Frye and had resided in Anderson for the past 53 years. He graduated from Morton Memorial in 1959 and attended Ball State.
He retired from Emge Packing Company and the Waffle House.
Samuel enjoyed spending time with his family, watching IU basketball, the Yankees, the Bears and eating Reese’s Cups and Cheese Puffs.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evangeline “Van” Frye; daughters, Cyndi (Dave) Romine and Jeni (Brent) Hagan; grandsons, Sam (Debbie) Snideman, Jon (Toni) Snideman, David Romine and Dillon Frye; granddaughters, Izzy Romine and Savannah Hagan; two great-grandchildren on the way; brothers, Jim (Vicky) Frye and Dennis (Stella) Meranda; sisters, Sylvia Mikel and Jeri (Bob) Wood; and several nieces and nephews.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Catherine Frye; a son, Sammy F. Frye; and his brother, Don Frye.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, with Samuel Snideman officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
