SELMA -- Sterl L. Huber Sr., 86, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Danville Regional Rehabilitation in Danville.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1927 in Muncie, the son of Lloyd and Alma (Morgan) Huber, graduated from Center High School in 1945 and attended both Purdue University and Anderson University.
He worked as a machine repairman and retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after several years of service. He also spent most of his life as a farmer.
He was a member and Past Master of Whitney Masonic Lodge 229 F. &A.M. as well as a member and Past Patron of Whitney Order of Eastern Star 564.
Survivors include his children, Sherri Parker (husband, Joseph), Terri Huber and Sterl Huber Jr.; his grandchildren, Joanie Parker and Marcie James (husband, Bob); great-grandchildren, Siena and Isaac James; his brothers and sisters, Charles Huber (wife, Allie Mae), Gary Huber and Becky Cummings (husband, Alan); two brothers-in-law, Tony LaRocca and Michael Murray (wife, Karen) and his best friend, Buddy Ruffhouse.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Janet J. Huber in 1994; a sister, Donna LaRocca; and his parents.
Private entombment will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
