ANDERSON, Ind. —
Marguerite “Peggy” Fisher, 80, of Anderson, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born on Oct. 2, 1932, in Mecca, Ind., to Joe and Mary (Murphey) Capps.
She graduated from Mecca High School in 1950.
Marguerite retired from Union Hospital, and had also been employed at Community Hospital Anderson and Woolworth’s Store in Anderson.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce Fisher of Anderson and Brian Fisher of Mecca; one grandson, Michael “Mickey” Fisher of Mecca; four granddaughters, Melissa (husband, Larry) McClain, Mandy (husband, Chris) Braxton and Peggy Fisher (Daniel Hinsley), all of Anderson, and Shaylee Fisher of Mecca; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Curry of Anderson and Helena “Bea” Shoemaker of Clinton; two brothers, David (wife, Diane) Capps of Mecca and Pat (Diane) Capps of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Steve Fisher; two brothers, Billy Joe and John Earl Capps; and one sister, Sharon James.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel, with the Rev. Eddie Perciful officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
