ANDERSON — Roger E. “Butch” Waltermire, 66, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov 13, 2013, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Butch was born on Sept. 4, 1947, in Anderson to the late Earl and Annabell (Clifford) Waltermire. Butch graduated from Frankton High School in 1966 and served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
He retired in 1999 from General Motors after 32 years. On Dec. 21, 1968 he married the love of his life, Sharon (Morgan) Waltermire she survives along with their children: son, Shane (Brittany) Waltermire; daughter, April (Jimmy) Hickerson; two granddaughters, Shelbi and Shyli Hickerson; step-granddaughter, Aubrey Smitherman; five brothers, Don (Linda) Waltermire, Gene (Sandra) Waltermire, Doug (Carol) Waltermire, Larry (Marsha) Waltermire, Jerry (Linda) Waltermire; a brother-in-law, Dann (Ellyn) Morgan; three sisters-in-law, Teresa (Frank) Bandy, Kelly (Brian) Rice, Vickie (Doug) Bradley; several nieces & nephews, special friend Dixie-Doo.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joyce Trennepohl and Joan Waltermire.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at K of P & I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Frankton, Ind. with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life service at the Lapel American Legion following and everyone is invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
