ANDERSON, Ind. —
Jeffery Wilson Hughel, 61, of Anderson, died Nov. 13, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 21, 1952, in Anderson, to Harry “Bill” and Marilyn (Maynard) Hughel.
He graduated from Highland High School Class of 1970; Indiana State University for his bachelor’s degree; and Ball State for his masters in Education.
He was an elementary school teacher at Eastern Hancock Community Schools for 38 years before retiring in 2012.
He was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church, where he was an Elder, Chairman of the Board and president of Christian Men’s Fellowship.
He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 230. He liked to read, cook and can. He was a genealogy buff.
Survivors include his mother, Marilyn (Maynard) Hughel; daughters, Hayley Hughel and Hilary Hughel; former wife, Katherine Young, all of Anderson; brother, Joel Hughel; two sisters, Jill (Hughel) Wylam of Minnesota and Jenny (Hughel) Deeds of Anderson; nieces, Michelle (Wylam) Fredericks and Leila Hughel Deeds; nephews, Mike Wylam, Nick Wylam; and great-niece, Lexis Fredericks.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry “Bill” Hughel and his grandparents.
Memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Linville Services of Anderson, Chesterfield Christian Church or Harter House.
