---- — MUNCIE — Susanna J. Hildreth, 88, of Muncie, passed away at Miller’s Merry Manor, Chesterfield, on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, with family by her side.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1924, to Fred and Elsie Maude Crowthers (Slack).
She was a graduate of Cicero High School with the class of 1943. Susanna was the co-owner of Hildreth Sanitation with her husband, Clarence. She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 231. Susanna also enjoyed roller skating as a younger woman, as well as bowling and bingo.
Susanna is survived by a loving family consisting of her daughter, Marsha Long of Anderson; sons, Rex Ammerman (wife, Karen) of Louisiana, and David Ammerman (wife, Cynthia) of Yorktown; stepson, Mike Hildreth of Anderson; stepdaughter, Linda Hildreth of Crawfordsville; sister-in-law, Pat Crowthers; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a grand-dog, Max.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hildreth; and four siblings.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place on Monday in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
