MIDDLETOWN — Carole Sue (King) Rude, 75, Middletown, ended her courageous battle with cancer and went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sept. 7, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson, surrounded by her loved ones and family.
Born June 14, 1938, in Anderson, the daughter of John and Gladys Rockwell King, she had worked as a dietitian for Anderson Community Schools for several years.
She lived most of her life in Anderson moving to Middletown in 1984. She worked several occupations in her life but found her calling as a wife and mother when she married the love of her life, Larry Rude, in 1983.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Rude; daughters, Donna (Mike Sr,) Holcomb of LaGrange, and Melissa Giles (Robb) of Alexandria; granddaughters, Jamie (Neal) Porter and Jessica Norton; and grandson, Travis (Jenni) Holcomb.
Also surviving are one brother, Gene King of Arkansas; and half brother, James Duffey of Washington.
She was a great-grandmother of five and was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Holcomb, in 2012.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Middletown American Legion Post.
