ANDERSON, Ind. —
Odie “Jay” Phillips Jr., 81, of Anderson, passed away May 1, 2013, at Community Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Liberty, Ky., and lived in Anderson most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1996 from Prime Battery after 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Annette (Tucker) Phillips of Anderson; daughters, Ronda (husband, Paul) Martz and Lisa Phillips, all of Anderson; son, Tim Phillips; granddaughter, Megan (husband, William) Sage of Indianapolis; grandson, Kristoffer Campbell (partner, Michael Wright) of Noblesville; great-grandson, Aiden W. Sage of Indianapolis; sisters, Phyllis Harless of Anderson, Anita Jenkins of Chesterfield and Dixie Carpenter of Frankton; and brother, Jack (wife, Shirley) Phillips of Frankton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Odie and Theda Phillips.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
