MIDDLETOWN — Velma O. Branson, 91, of Middletown, passed away Sept. 2, 2013, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Indianapolis, and had lived in Middletown for the past 52 years. She retired in 1980 from Delco Remy after 35 years.
Velma is survived by her daughter, Sheila Loser of Middletown; sons, Stephen (wife, Trella) Branson of Amarillo, Texas, William Mark Branson of Taswell, and James Branson of Middletown; daughter, Jill (husband, Jeff) Moore of Pendleton; grandchildren, Todd Loser of Lima, Ohio, Andy Loser of Pendleton, Jennifer (husband, Keith) Givens of Anderson, and Jessica Moore of Pendleton; great-granddaughter, Madison Givens; and sister, Vera Sanders of Middletown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Branson; and parents, the Rev. Roy and Dora Laswell.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
