---- — ANDERSON — Hannah J. (Patterson) Summa, 96, of Anderson, died Aug. 30, 2013, at IU Health/Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Terre Haute, and adopted by George and Elizabeth (Horne) Patterson after the death of her biological parents, Catherine (Baxter) and Harry Hitchmough.
She graduated from Anderson High School in 1935 and St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1938.
She was a registered nurse for 30 years before retiring in 1977. She worked at Emge Packing for 20 years, Guide Lamp, Chevrolet Plant and Anaconda where she worked as a nurse.
She was a member of New Horizons United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Jerry Davis of Anderson; grandsons Scott (Julie Tuttle) Davis of Yorktown and Kyle (Laura) Davis of Plainfield; a great-grandson, Ross Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Summa, died in 1993; daughter, Catherine Davis, died in 2009; four sisters; and two brothers.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association.
