ELWOOD — Brian A. Connors, 55, of Elwood, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Jan. 31, 1958, in Elwood, the son of Bernard A. and Barbara Ann (Major) Connors, he worked in skilled trades for Metal Fabricators, a division of General Motors Corp. He formerly worked for Ex-Cello Corp. in Elwood. Brian was a 1976 graduate of Elwood Community High School. He spent much of his time working on his farm. He was a member of the United Auto Workers; was an avid snowmobiler; and avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his father, Bernard A. Connors of Elwood; sister, Vickie (David) Wilson of Elwood; two brothers, Kevin Connors of Utica, Mich., and Patrick (Denise) Connors of The Colony, Texas; aunts and uncles, Bob (Charlene) Connors of Elwood, Beverly Waters of Lafayette, Mary Wallace of Lafayette, Steve Connors of Lafayette, and Rebecca Stanley of Columbus; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Lisa Kestler; and beloved dog “Ozzie.”
Brian was preceded in death by mother, Barbara Connors who died in 2010; grandparents; and beloved dog “Harley.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Father Dan Duff officiating. Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
