ANDERSON — Norma L. Eytchison, 82, of Anderson, passed away Sept. 11, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.
She was born Oct. 23, 1930, in Lapel, the daughter of the late Lotus and Hazel (McCune) Critzer. She was a lifelong Anderson resident and was a homemaker.
Norma was a caregiver for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, an avid reader, and had been a volunteer at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her children, Roy (Lindie) Thomas and Michael (Kim) Thomas, all of Anderson, and Cindy (Jeff) Howard of Huntington; stepchildren, Chuck (Carolyn) Eytchison of Markleville, Steve “Redneck” Eytchison of Anderson, Ralph (Gloria) Eytchison of Oklahoma, and Phillip (Janis) Eytchison and Jeff (Lisa) Eytchison, all of Anderson, Kathy (Jerry) Lambert of Chesterfield, Debra (Keith) Veppert of Anderson and Sheena (Gary) Sexton of Middletown; 36 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Violet Thomas of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Thomas; second husband, Ralph “Cowboy” Eytchison; two step-grandchildren, Warren Eytchison and Bill Eytchison; one grandchild, Robert Thomas; and one great-granddaughter, Keeley Thomas.
Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Pastor Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
