JUPITER, Fla. — Donald K. Schlabach, 87, passed away early on Nov. 14, 2013, at the Hospice of Palm Beach County Jupiter Pavilion.
Don was born in Anderson, Ind. in 1926 and later attended Anderson University and Indiana University. He was the only son of Bud and Ione Schlabach of Park Place. In 1960, he and his loving wife, Barbara, moved to West Palm Beach along with their three small children. He worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. Don and Barbara moved to Jupiter, Fla., in 1986 and attended Oceanview Methodist Church. Donald was an avid golfer and loved to share his passion (and his golf clubs) with his family, neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara; his daughters, Gigi Murray (son-in-law, Michael), Darla Hill and Nancy Foulke (son-in-law, David). He was a devoted and doting grandfather to his three grandchildren, Ilicia Koslow and Andrew and Michelle Foulke. He was the gentle giant of the family and will be forever missed!
There will be a graveside service for Don at the chapel at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Rick Vale officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, Jupiter Pavilion, or Oceanview United Methodist Church, Juno Beach, Fla.
