---- — ANDERSON — On Saturday, June 29, 2013, Dayvon Le Quez McClendon Sr. made his transition from life to eternity at Community Hospital from complications of asthma, with his family and friends by his side.
Dayvon was born on Sept. 26, 1980 to Rose Mary Townsend and Nathan McClendon.
Dayvon was a dedicated father to his four children. He was employed with Melvin Evans Construction & Remodeling. He graduated from Ball State University with an Associate degree in Business. He attended Kenny Academy & Barbering. He enjoyed cutting friends’ and family hair. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Dayvon leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Rose Mary Townsend of Anderson; father and stepmother, Nathan (Ulonda) McClendon of Radcliff, Ky.; children, Dayquez McClendon, DaAveon McClendon, Dayvon McClendon Jr., and Dayon Newsom; and stepson, Deontre Smoots; one brother, Christin Duane Howard; four sisters, Natasha (Richard) Jackson, Alisha Wilkerson both of Anderson, Nataile (Bruce) McClendon-Douglass of Ft. Campbell, Tenn. and Lawanda McClendon of Radcliff, Ky.; God-sister, Ra’Neshia Wills; maternal grandparents Ruby (James) Ivey of Anderson, Ind. and Willie Jordan of Talladega, Ala.; paternal grandparents, Albert (Bertha) McClendon of Anderson, Ind. ; three uncles, Vaughn (Debbie) Lately Jr., of Fredericksburg, Va., Alvin (Gwen) McClendon Sr. of Louisville, Ky. and Mernarr (Beetle) McClendon of Anderson; four aunties, Annie (Sue) Glispie, Karen McClendon, Linda Bush and Lisa McClendon, all of Anderson; four nephews, DaJour Howard of Muncie, Bryce, LaVontre and Quanevan Douglass of Ft. Campbell, Tenn.; four nieces, DaShayla Jackson, Dareon Jackson, DaTrielle Wilkerson and Ashilis Jackson, all of Anderson, Ind.; special cousin, T’Nae Thomas; several other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; girlfriend, Tristen Hart; and special friends, Ryshawn Wills, Johnnita Jones and Marcus Jones; and godson, James Chamberlain Jr.
Dayvon was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Willie Mae (Lucius) Bell and Louis Johnson; paternal great-grandparents, Mattie Cotton-Chamberlain and Rev. Sam (Lizzie) McClendon; and uncles, Larry McClendon and Pastor Terry Bush.

Services will be held at noon on Friday at Anderson Zion Baptist Church, 2008 Rev. J.T. Menifee St., Anderson. Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 am to noon Friday at the church.
