ANDERSON, Ind. —
Johnny Linville “John” Carpenter, 68, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 17, 1945, in Anderson, to Barbour and Norma J. (Boyd) Carpenter.
He was an engineer for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Lindberg Road Church of Christ and Elks Lodge 209.
He is survived by his four children, John “Rick” Carpenter, Robin Fields, Shane Carpenter and Heidi Wasko; his brother, Gary (Marti) Carpenter; two sisters, Judy (Bill) Tomlinson and Barb Teague; six grandchildren, Meghan (Nick) Risinger, Kylie (Kris) Waller, Makayla Carpenter, Cody, Hunter and Boe Fields; two great-grandchildren, Ivan Risinger and Weston Waller; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandmother, Estella Boyd.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
