---- — ALEXANDRIA — Catherine Marie Holford, 80, of Alexandria, died Nov. 30, 2013, in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood after an extended illness.
Catherine was born on Sept. 7, 1933, in Alexandria and was the daughter of Ernest M. and Freda M (Street) Street. On May 2, 1953, she married Virgil A. Holford who preceded her death in 2001.
Catherine retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1988 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the IOOF-Rebeka Lodge of Anderson.
She is survived by her children, John Holford, Rick (Linda) Holford, Tony ( Lori Huggins) Holford and Greg ( Erin Campbell) Holford; two brothers, Merl (Velma) Street, Jr. and Jack (Marlene) Street; three sisters, Janice (David) Johnson, Judy Brena, JoAnne Osborne; sister-in-law, Rosetta (Vernon) Beane; an aunt, Elsie Vannatta; and special friend Alberta Lamb. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil A. Holford; son, Kenny (Pee Wee) Holford; sister, Mildred Kemper; three brothers, James, Richard and Joseph Holford; sister-in-law, Mary Sizelove; nephew, Terry Street; and great-grandchild, Chandler Holford.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Whetsel Funeral Service with the Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
