ANDERSON, Ind. —
He served his country in the Army Reserves.
He retired from Emge after 22 years of service.
He enjoyed pitching horseshoes and was a member of the Anderson Horseshoe Association. He was also a member of Faith Church Assembly of God.
Buford is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Norma J. (Head) Porter; children, Darla (Joe) Greiner and James B. Porter; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-step-grandchild; two sisters; and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maude (Watson) and Oscar Porter.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, Ind.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Carl Lamb officiating. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park. Cemetery.
