Dr. Karin M. Gray

April 26, 1964 - March 23, 2013

JASPER, Ind. — Dr. Karin M. Gray, 48, of Jasper, formerly of Anderson, passed away at 9:30 p.m., on Saturday at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Ind.

Dr.  Gray was born on April 26, 1964, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to William James and Cora Sue (Baker) Gray.

She was a graduate of Lapel High School Class of 1982, was a graduate of the Franklin College class of 1986, and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at Franklin. She was a 1990 graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed a three year OB/GYN residency at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was a OB/GYN Physician for 23 years, and she practiced in Jasper since 1994, working alongside Dr. Terry Brown, Dr. Greg Miller, and Dr. Gary Kipp.

She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper, and she was on the board for the Jasper Public Library. She was also a past member of the Tri Kappa Sorority.

She enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading, and crafting.

Surviving are stepfather Thomas Pershing and his wife, Nancy of Freetown, Ind.; four sisters, Kelly Suzanne Gentry and her husband Dan, West Lafayette, Ind., Kristi Louise Paul and her husband Glenn, Austin, Texas, Kathy Della Gray, Jasper, and Julie Kay Allman and her husband Wayne, Anderson; brother, William James Gray II and his wife Jennifer, Frankton;  half-brother, Devin Michael Gray and his wife Rachel, Ashburn, Va.; two stepsisters, Teri Ellen Persing, Anderson, and  Jane Holycross, Indianapolis; two stepbrothers, Timothy Eugene Persing and his wife Lori, Fort Wayne and  Theodore Edward Persing and his wife Donna, Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, William James Gray and Cora Sue Persing.

Funeral services for Dr. Karin M. Gray will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Jasper, with burial to follow at a later date.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, the Jasper Public Library, the American Cancer Society, or to a favorite charity.
