MIDDLETOWN, Ind. —
Betty Dean (Stutsman) Sears, 87, of Middletown, passed away on April 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. She was born on Feb. 9, 1926, in Anderson and resided most of her life in Anderson.
Betty graduated from Anderson High School Class of 1943-1944.
She is a retired librarian for Anderson Public Library and was director of aid to the military families for the American Red Cross.
She was active in the Middletown Garden Club and had a thriving ceramic business.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Diana (Sears) McDaniel of Middletown and Nancy (Sears) (Michael D.) Brown of Anderson; grandsons, Michael A. (Courtney (Demarr)) Brown of Houston, Texas, David L. (Riley) Brown of Tenn.; great-grandsons, Brycen, Brennan and Bronson Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Sears; father, Jessie Stutsman; mother, Bessie (Reed) Stutsman; and infant daughter who passed at birth, Carrol Ann Sears.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Burial will take place in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, immediately following the visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
