FRANKTON, Ind. —
Helen B. Duckworth, 87, of Frankton, passed away on Feb. 23, 2013, at Manor Care Nursing Facility in Anderson, following an extended illness. Helen was born on Jan. 13, 1926, to Robert and Lucia (Tharp) Benefiel in Frankton.
Helen worked and lived most of her life in Gardena, Calif. She was a retired secretary for the president of Lowe International Train Company of Los Angeles.
Helen is survived by three nieces, Carol Sue Doctor of Muncie, Linda Reynolds and Joan Pruitt, both of Frankton; two nephews, Sam Todd of Middletown and Lyndon Barrows of White Heath, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Betty Duckworth, Lena Nazak, Erma (Eileen) Staley, and Thelma Barrows.
Her request for cremation has taken place and her wishes to be memorialized at her parents’ plot in Frankton are being followed with a Memorial/graveside ceremony to be held at the K. of P. and I.O.O.F. cemetery in Frankton at 3 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Brent Reynolds officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home, Frankton.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
