ANDERSON, Ind. —
Frederick Allen Crawford, 72, passed away April 28, 2013.
He was born on July 17, 1940, the youngest son of Kenneth Crawford Sr. and Essie Crouch-Crawford, in Indianapolis.
Fred, or “Frac” as he was more affectionately known, received his education in the Indianapolis Public School system. He moved to Anderson, where he retired from General Motors. He was a member of Bethesda Temple I.P.A.A. Fred loved gardening, antiquing, and bringing joy to others through laughter.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory, his lovely wife of 23 years, Patti; his sons, Tyrone Evans Sr. (Sharon), Terence Crawford, and Frederick Crawford II; daughters, Rhonda Gilbert (George), and Dana Portis (Thomas), all of Indianapolis; stepsons, Leonard Whiteside of Las Vegas, Nev., and Denard Whiteside of Plano, Texas; sister, Delores Anderson; brothers, William Crawford (Bernice), and Kenneth Crawford Jr. (Frances); 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at L.C. May Funeral Services, Anderson, with Bishop Robert White officiating. The family will hold a private burial.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
