MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. —
Beverly Ann (Yeagy) Meska, 83, of Michigan City, passed away on May 11, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Beverly was born on Sept. 29, 1929, in Kokomo, to Emery LeRoy Yeagy and Mary Ann Yeagy. Both parents have preceded her in death.
Beverly worked for 26 years as an administrative secretary for the Michigan City area schools. She was a past secretary and board member of the Michigan City Scholarship Foundation for 24 years and she also volunteered with The United Way.
Beverly gained notoriety in 2012 when she was honored by the XLVI Super Bowl Host Committee in Indianapolis for making the largest individual contribution to the Super Bowl Super Scarves Project, producing 250 of the scarves for the event.
She is survived by her children: Candy (Phil) Williams of Franklin, Marsha Kaiser of LaPorte, Robyn (Rob) Landry of Denver, Colo., Pam Knight of Michigan City, Rusty (Cathy) Meska of East Lansing, Mich.; grandchildren, Matthew (Sara) Knight, Kyle (Angela) Meska, Carrie (Isaac) Watson, Austin (Meghan) Drouare and Tyler Drouare; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Fore-Knight, Kavan Meska, Kaylee Knight, Matthew and Ethan Schuster, Elias and Orion Watson, Conner and Zoey Drouare, Quenten and Jordan Johnston; brothers and sister, Bruce (Pam) Yeagy of Alexandria, Bill (June) Yeagy, Bradley Yeagy, Blaine Yeagy, Barbara Saubert of Summitville; sister-in-law, Geraldine Yeagy of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Yeagy.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral & Cremation Services, 613 Washington St., Michigan City, with Pastor Bill Fine of St. John’s United Church of Christ officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Hospice or the Michigan City Scholarship Foundation in her name.
