ANDERSON, Ind. — Joseph Frank Janowski, 88, of Anderson, passed away on July 28, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital Anderson.
He was born on June 10, 1925, in Anderson, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Joseph graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
He was retired from Guide Lamp Corp.
He was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the Elks Club, the Shriners Club, and the Polish Lodge. He loved to travel, watch baseball, including the New York Yankees, playing Bridge, and golfing. He also enjoyed time at the casinos.
Joseph is survived by his loving spouse whom he married in 1989, Betty (Ward) Janowski; brother-in-law, Robert Kimm; nieces and nephews, Ron (Linda) Walser of Tampa, Fla., Barbara (Roger) Kemp of Anderson, Mike (Ginger) Walser of Fort Myers, Fla., Bob (Rhonda) Kimm of Anderson, Debbie Lawson of Anderson, Joe Kimm of Memphis, Tenn., Patricia Lightfoot of Fort Wayne, Michael Ward of Anderson, Carol Swango of Anderson, and Susan Huffman of Anderson; and many great-nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Frank and Victoria (Ravage) Janowski; two sisters, Martha Kimm and Barbara Walser; first wife, Martha; and brothers-in-law, Bill Walser and John Ward.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating. Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before service Wednesday at the funeral home.
