Mary Washburn Fry

MUNCIE, Ind. — Mary Washburn Fry, 90, passed away Friday morning, May 3, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness. She was a former Anderson resident for more than 60 years.  

She was born on Jan. 11, 1923, in Lexington, Ky., the daughter of Wylie and Estelle Washburn.

Mary was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many. Her death will leave a huge void in not only the lives of her family but her many friends.

She retired from Delco Remy in Anderson. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling, volunteering, and performing as “YoYo” The Clown in area nursing and retirement homes.

Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Sue Clark (husband, Charles F.); two grandchildren, Elizabeth Rachel Jok (husband, Alex) and Tomas Allen (wife, Melissa Lyn); six great-grandchildren, Bradley, Caroline, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Zachary, and Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Ezmond Fry; two brothers, William and James Washburn; and a sister, Ruth Garland.

After cremation a private graveside memorial will be held at a later date at Flatrock Cemetery in Osgood.

The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
