ALEXANDRIA, Ind. —
Harley Ray Allen, 61, Alexandria, and formerly of Monon, passed away on May 6, 2013, at the home of his brother in Monon.
Born on June 5, 1951, in Lafayette, to the late Robert J. and Geraldine (Wentz) Allen. He was a 1970 graduate of North White High School, and a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1970-1974. He also graduated from Ball State University in 1977 with a bachelor of science degree.
Harley enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, had a passion for photography, storm chasing and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Harley was the 11th of 12 children. He was employed by the Madison County Probation Department as a probation supervisor.
Survivors include son, Richard Eric (Amanda) of Hagerstown; siblings, Russell (Enid) of Killeen, Texas, Robert (Arnetta) of Monon, Gerry (Penny) of Monon, Francis of Monticello, Mark of Monon, Catherine Johns of Monticello, Barbara Eisert of West Lafayette, and Violet (Don) Hughes of Idaville; stepsisters, Joann Fredel of Logansport and Carol (John) Blount of Monon; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Joe Pearson; and siblings, Monty Jay, Danny Lynn and Ginny Call.
Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Frazier Funeral Home, 507 N. Market St., Monon, IN 47959.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Services will conclude at the funeral home and cremation will follow.
