ANDERSON, Ind. —
Jewel L. Freeland, 87, of Anderson, passed away on May 7, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson.
She was born Oct. 6, 1925, in Indianapolis, and resided the last 13 years in Anderson.
Jewel retired from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after 30 years of service.
She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, president of the Church Women United of Madison County, and the American Legion Post 117.
Jewel is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Robert) Green of Pendleton; grandchildren, Robert E. (Tabitha) Green II, Andrew J. (Melissa) Green, and Brittany D. (David) Case; great-grandchildren, Robert E. “Tres’” Green III, Emily J. Hofmann, Baleigh N. Green, Ethan D. Case, Rachel J. Hofmann, Makenzie C. Green, Jordan M. Green, Andrew “A. J.” Green II, Austin J. Green, and Kinley R. Case; brother, Walter (Syble) Geiger; sister, Helen Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Freeland; daughter, Lynnette Freeland; parents, August and Edna (Svendsen) Geiger; and sisters, Georgia Perry and Katherine Hopson.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Zirkle officiating.
Private family entombment will take place Monday, May 13, 2013 at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
