ANDERSON, Ind. —
Edith E. Wright, 95, of Anderson, passed away May 8, 2013, at Meadowbrooke Rehabilitation Center & Suites after an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Liberty, Ky., the daughter of W.C. and Myrtle (Grooms) Emerson. She lived in Anderson most all of her life and retired in 1975 from Delco Remy after 26 years.
At one time, Edith attended Central Wesleyan Church and Faith Assembly. She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 662.
She is survived by three sons, Elvin “Wayne” (wife, Elisabeth) Wright and Jerry D. (wife, Kathy Stoops) Wright, all of Anderson, and Sherell D. (wife, Kay) Wright of Melbourne, Fla.; two sisters, Mollie Vaughn and Marie Allen, both of Liberty, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvin E. Wright; brothers, Amos Emerson, James Emerson, Marion Emerson, Everett Emerson, John Emerson and Leslie Emerson; and sisters, Beulah Farris, Alice Henderson, Donnie Lee and Ollie Allen.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Vermillion Place, Meadowbrooke Nursing Home and Southern Hospice Group.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Stookey officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
