ANDERSON, Ind. —
Robert “Bob” Breese Morse, 86, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2013, at Community Hospital.
He was born on June 3, 1926, in New Castle, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Bob graduated from Anderson High School class of 1944 and earned a degree in economics from DePauw University and an accounting degree from Indiana University. He served his country in the Navy during World War II as a storekeeper D 2nd Class, and a member of the Navy Choir.
He retired as president of Cook Block & Brick. He was an artist and a piano player.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, 45-year member of the Anderson Country Club, where he was past director of the board, 25-year member of Noon Exchange Club, 66-year member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, he loved to paint, and was an avid Indiana University basketball fan.
He was the president of several organizations, the Anderson Country Club from 1963-1965, Country Club Heights, Wilson’s Boys Club, PTA at Forest Hills, and Concrete Masonry Association from 1982-1983.
Bob is survived by his children, Cheryl “Cherie” L. (fiancé, Louis George) Morse of Anderson, Jeffery B. (Pam) Morse of St. Louis, Melanie Morse-Dawson, Betsy M. (Bucky) Sheets, and Julie A. Morse, all of Anderson, sister, Wanda Jeanne McKnight of Anderson; grandchildren, Shannon (fiancé, Tom Hamm) Whited, Donelle (Steve) Zunker, Shawn DuBois, Malissa Mountain-Dawson, Mandala Keeney, Alyson (Cory) Willard, Joe (fiance, Gina Sanchez) Morse, Eric Morse Robert (Tawny) Rumler, Ginger Rumler, great-grandchildren, Alexie Whited, Ivy DuBois, Evan DuBois, Brianna Parker, Brooklynne Parker, Paiton Keeney, Breese Dawson, Trai Keeney, Benjamin Rumler, Noah Willard, Geoffrey Rumler, Eli Willard, Drake Rumler and Brady Willard; several nieces and nephew; friend, Becky Bathauer; and canine companion, Maggie Mae.
He was preceded in death by his wife whom he married Sept. 7, 1947, Virginia “Ginger” (Milburn) Morse; parents, Artie (Futtrell) and Lee M. Morse’ sister, Maxine R. Cook; brothers-in-law, Virgil E. Cook and Paul E. McKnight; and son-in-law, Rex “Pete” Clendenen.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6pm, and one hour prior to the service at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery.
