---- — ANDERSON — Thomas John Dwyer, 68, Anderson, completed his earthly journey surrounded by family and entered into his new chapter of life in comfort with his Lord on Aug. 19, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with his heart.
He was born Feb. 18, 1945, in Indianapolis. Thomas has been employed for Sheet Metal Local #20 for more than 40 years. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, the Indianapolis Colts and western movies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Myla Gene Dwyer; children, Jeffrey Dwyer, Janet Dwyer-Edwards (Tim) and Michael Dwyer (Kellie); three grandchildren, Kayla Kirkman, Dalton Edwards and Austin Edwards; six siblings and a host of other relatives.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the physicians, nurses and staff at Community Heart and Vascular North that took part in his care over the years and giving him the title of “sheriff” and providing him with a badge. Although he has retired from here, he will take it with him and continue his duties through his next chapter in life.
Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Flanner and Buchanan –Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, with a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Saturday.
