Beverly A. Pierce

ALEXANDRIA — Beverly A. (Ellis) Pierce, 75, Alexandria, died peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 28, 2013, at her residence.

She was born July 13, 1938, in Anderson, the daughter of Pete Ellis and Helen “Berniece” (Etchison) Pitcock, and was a lifelong Alexandria resident.

Beverly was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1956. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Alexandria and Okahumpka, Fla. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Leesburg, Fla. She enjoyed golfing, shopping and casino trips. However, time spent with family and friends in both Indiana and Florida gave her great pleasure.

Survivors include her daughter, Nehersta Pierce (Angie Sands) of Alexandria; son, Anthony Brent (Gina) Pierce of Alexandria; three grandsons, Ethan (Ashley) Pierce, Ramon (Ashley) Pierce, all of Alexandria, and Stuart (Anna Booth) Pierce of Hurricane, W.Va.; granddaughter, Brandy (Luke) Gillespie of Alexandria; three great-grandsons, Leo Gillespie, Dallas Pierce and Ridley Pierce; brothers, Phil (Connie) Lineberry, Don (Enola) Lineberry, all of Alexandria, and Steve (Nola) Lineberry of Orestes; two brothers-in-law, Bill (Donna) Pierce of Alexandria, and Ron (Cinda) Pierce of Anderson; aunt, Alberta (Etchison) McGraw of Anderson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 53 years, Larry R. Pierce in 2011.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Noffze Funeral Home, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. Interment of cremains will take place in Park View Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Christian Congregation Church through the funeral home.
