---- — ANDERSON — Mary Land (Pittsford) Wonders, 90, of Anderson, passed away on Sept. 1, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield following an extended illness.
She was born on March 21, 1923, in Anderson, and lived here all of her life.
In the past years, the former farm wife drove a tractor, worked at a local cafeteria and briefly worked at Delco Remy of General Motors before a layoff occurred. Later, Mary had worked at Frisch’s on Broadway for 28.5 years before retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the Kindom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Mary is survived by her children, Lois (Melvin) Imel, Becky (Mike) Hudson, JR (Joyce) Pittsford, and Paul (Kenny Hardeman) Pittsford; sister, Martha Smith; brother, Carl (Margaret) Land; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; one step-great-great-grandchild; three nieces; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Gertrude (Conway) Land; daughter, Marilyn Sue Apodaca; and grandson, Lee Apodaca.
Mary’s family would like to thank the staff of Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield for the exceptional care they provided to her over the last several years and also her many nursing home friends for their love and support.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Brother Bill Houser officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
