---- — ANDERSON — Robert Cecil Farris, 90, longtime Anderson resident, died Sept. 28, 2013, at Countryside Meadows Nursing Home in Avon following an extended illness.
He was born on June 12, 1923, in Cumberland Falls, Ky., the son of Jackson Brown Farris and Alberta (Barton) Farris. He was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, served in the United States Air Force, and worked as a pipefitter for Delco Remy, retiring in 1987. He was a member of East Side Church of God.
Survivors include two children, Gerald R. Farris of Anderson, and Beverly A. Logue ( husband, Terry) of Indianapolis; and three grandchildren, Stacie, Mike and Scott Farris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable L. (Southerland) Farris, on March 31, 2009. They were married on April 21, 1946, in Lexington, Ky.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
