---- — MARKLEVILLE — Jack A. McDavid, 82, of Markleville, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Anderson. He was born on April 16, 1931, in Grayson, Ky., to Lovie and Cleo (Jessie) McDavid.
Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 662. Jack enjoyed his horses and liked Model A cars. He also enjoyed watching Westerns on TV.
Jack is survived his wife of 50 years, Peggy (Shanahan) McDavid; four sisters, Betty (Jim) Jenkins of Winchester, Monnie Tarter of Portland, Carra Faye Chalfant of Winchester, and Lovie Ann Moystner of Winchester; four brothers, Bill McDavid of Economy, Harry McDavid of New Castle, Paul McDavid of Portland, and Garrett (Linda) McDavid, of Lynn; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jack McDavid, Jr.; and two brothers, James and Larry McDavid.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor James Proctor officiating. Burial with military services will follow at Saratoga Cemetery, in Saratoga, Ind.
Friends and family may call from 3 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, as well as an hour before the services on Thursday, all at the funeral home.
