NEW CASTLE — Patsy Jo Wills, 77, of New Castle, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Reid Hospital in Richmond following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 9, 1936, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Wilburn Stamper Sr. and Maria (Shepard) Stamper.
Patsy was a 1954 graduate of Mount Summit High School. She had worked for the New Castle State Hospital for more than 38 years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Mount Summit Christian Church. Patsy was a big Indianapolis Pacers, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. She greatly enjoyed time spent with her family, especially their get-togethers and caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Debbie King of New Castle, Rick (wife, Angie) Wills of Muncie, Randy Wills (fianceé, Marsha Catron) of New Castle, Robert (wife, Terry Lynn) Wills of New Castle and Sandy (husband, Rick) Taylor of Lapel; her grandchildren, Dylan (wife, Stacey) King, Andy King, Beau (wife, Gloria) King, Jake (wife, Kandice) Wills, Kylie Kernel, Meghan (husband, Brandon) Cool, Tiffany Wills (friend, Steven), Tyler Wills (friend, Sarah), Daniel Wills, Ryan Wills, Kyle Wills, Mallory Wills (friend, Bryson), Rickie Taylor (friend, Samantha), Laney Wills (fiancé, Matt), Katie (husband, Nate) Smith, Libby Wills-Smith (husband, Kyle) and Matthew Catron; her great-grandchildren, Allison, Carter, Caleb, Kaylee, Alissa, Sarah, Davin, Jamie, Cole, Jessika, Savannah, Madison, Brianna, Katelyn, Bryce, Lacy and Emerson; two brothers, Wilburn Stamper Jr. (wife, Ruth) of Arizona and Milton (wife, Betty) Stamper of New Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Wills, on Dec. 17, 1995; a son, Terry Edward Wills; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Erika Wills; and two sisters, Lelia Lovelace and Mary Shively.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Summit Christian Church with Pastor Mark O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Summit Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sproles Family Funeral Home, New Castle, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
