Betty S. Anderson

ANDERSON — Betty S. Anderson, 85, Anderson, passed away Nov. 3, 2013, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.

She was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Shelby County, the daughter of John P. and Addie Texas (Firestone) Sweat. Betty was married to Edward A. Anderson and he preceded her in death in 1999. She worked as a beautician and then as an Inspector/Packer at RCA until her retirement in 1986. After her retirement she worked at Market Square Arena and Conseco Fieldhouse.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Fred) Thompson of Huntsville, Ohio, Charles (Carol) Anderson of Anderson, Roberta Crist of Ingalls and Mary Jean (Kenny) Hurst of New Palestine; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary (Roy) Brown of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Edward, Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Roberta Jay.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Jim Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sympathy may be expressed in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
