Ralph D. Wilson

SUMMITVILLE, Ind. — Ralph D. Wilson, 76, Summitville, died Jan. 17, 2013, at Community Hospital, Anderson, after an extended illness.

He was born Aug. 28, 1936, in Edmonton, Ky., the son of Oscar J. Wilson and Hettie (Hendrick) Wilson, and resided in the Summitville area most of his lifetime.

Ralph served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Fisher-Body of Marion in 1998 after 31 years of employment. He was a member of the Frankton American Legion and the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed fishing. He loved his family and especially his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Hacker) Wilson, whom he married May 2, 1964; two daughters, Joy (Everett) Jeffries of Fairmount and Tammy (Gene) Flook of Alexandria; four sons, Kevin Wilson, Dwayne (Michelle) Wilson and Stephen Wilson, all of Summitville, and Gary (Stephanie) Wilson of Anderson; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jeanette (Danny) Creamer and Brenda (Phil) Petty of Summitville, and Patty (Jeff) Moore of Alexandria; five brothers, Lenvel (Brenda) Wilson of Fairmount, Danny (Jean Ann) Wilson in Ohio, Jerry (Cindy) Wilson of Wabash, Ronnie (Pam) Wilson in Michigan, and Dwight “Ike” (Susan) Wilson of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Cindy Sue; and infant brother, Terry.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 W. Walnut St., Summitville, with Pastor Carol Whetsel-Alvernaz officiating. Interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville with military honors by the United States Army and the Elwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5782 Honor Guard.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Summitville Fire Department Ambulance Fund through the funeral home.
