Letter: Business tax cut won't help cities

It's obvious that Mike Pence does not care about the general public with his proposal to cut business taxes in Indiana.

The mayors of several cities immediately spoke up against this. Our mayor, Kevin Smith, is against this also; good for him.

Why is Pence proposing this? Could he actually be working for the 1 percent?

I truly believe he is selling Indiana cities down the drain.

The local mayors will have to cut their budget to meet the tax cut demands.

They will have to cut road repair, sewer repair, police and fire service and many other programs that cities provide. If this tax cut proposal is benefiting to cities, I sure don't see it. If it benefits big investors in the business communities, then I see it. The big investors are the 1 percent, so Mike Pence words for them, not us.

The moral is "Be careful what you wish — vote — for, you might get it."

Mike Pence does not govern for 90 percent of us.
