Letter: Don't divide Israel

President Obama is intensely pressuring Israel to follow his peace plan, which means returning to its 1948 borders. This is foolish policy. It's doomed to fail because it's based upon false reasoning. It isn't Israel's current size, housing policy, or even Netanyahu that is the source of the problem.

The problem is Israel. Israel's enemies continue to argue that Israel shouldn't exist. You won't fix the problem if your opposition opposes your right to exist. I've lived in Israel. I've seen PLO anti-hate literature that is given to young school children. The minds of these young children are being trained in aggressive and hateful ways. There's a continual and certain fear that seems to pervade Israel because they are surrounded by nations that want Israel pushed into the sea.

If Obama pushes this through and forces Israel to divide the land, I can assure you that America will pay dearly for this decision.

Payment will come from the hand of God. America has offended God in so many ways — over 50 million abortions, promotion of homosexual rights, same-sex marriage policy, anti-Christian pursuits, corruption in government. Even so, the final nail on the wood, in my opinion, will be if we force Israel to divide her land.

Key to my comments is that God honors his covenants, and he will continue to honor the Abrahamic Covenant. Those that bless Israel will be blessed, and those who don't will be cursed. Do not force Israel to divide the land.
