The Colts will be here for about two weeks (they have not yet released the camp practice schedule) and will practice more than a dozen times at AU. After a surprisingly successful 2012 season, when they qualified for the playoffs after winning just two games the previous year, this year’s training camp has dozens of interesting story lines. Among them:
- Will quarterback Andrew Luck improve upon his fantastic rookie season?
- Can safety Bernard Pollard give Indy the big hitter it has lacked in its defensive secondary since the days of Bob Sanders?
- Will top draft pick Bjoern Werner help make up for the absence of popular pass-rush specialist Dwight Freeney?
- Can Coach Chuck Pagano, who became a folk hero last year while battling through leukemia to rejoin the team, come up with another magical year?
The Colts are expected to release a camp schedule soon. Look for details at www.theheraldbulletin.com and in The Herald Bulletin.
