Letter: Hawk declares US has 'duty' to help Ukraine

I read a recent column by Republican hawk Victor Ashe, former U.S. ambassador to Poland and former mayor of Knoxville, when he declared that "America's duty is to provide real help to embattled Ukraine."

Can you believe he would go so far as to use the word "duty," when his party won't provide prenatal care to poor and Mexican women in this country?

Yet, it's our moral and legal obligation and responsibility to provide money, guns, ammo, tanks, planes, etc. to the Ukraine as he and John McCain have never seen a conflict/war, including civil wars, they don't like to support. The recipient country "must bear some of the financial cost for their own defense."

"Some, huh?"
