Letter: 23 Relay for Life teams raised $40,000

As chairs of this year's American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Madison County, we would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support. Twenty-three teams joined in this year’s Relay For Life and raised $40,000 to help save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. We are so proud of our community for standing up to cancer to finish the fight.

More than 90 survivors walked the opening lap and inspired those currently battling cancer. Our Luminaria Ceremony showed the community’s warmth and strength in caring for those who are no longer with us.

We would also like to thank the many Relay For Life volunteers, committee members, and teams who worked to make this year’s event a success. We certainly want to thank our corporate sponsors Community Anderson Hospital, St. Vincent Anderson Regional, Lehman’s Mechanical Contractors and Meijer for their support which made all of this possible.

The 2015 Relay For Life will be forming soon. If you would like to help make next year's event an even bigger success and work toward the time we no longer hear the words "you have cancer," call 1-800-227-2345 or visit RelayForLife.org for more information.

Now that Andrew Luck is getting ready to start the third year of his NFL career, did the Colts make the right decision to release Peyton Manning and turn the offense over to Luck?

Yes, the future is bright.
No, the Colts would have won another Super Bowl by now if they had kept Manning.
Don't know; don't care
