Letter: To smoke or not to smoke

For several years, health and government organizations have spent millions of dollars trying to get people to stop smoking. It has had some success.

Now, it looks like we are close to legalizing pot. Are the health experts ready to take on a whole new group of smokers? Does this make any sense? What will it cost to add post smokers to the drunken drivers already on the road, causing accidents?

Another thought. Maybe it’s just about the millions of dollars in tax revenue the government would take in from taxes on pot. We need to think about these health problems. I’ve heard very few people talk about these issues.

Now that Andrew Luck is getting ready to start the third year of his NFL career, did the Colts make the right decision to release Peyton Manning and turn the offense over to Luck?

Yes, the future is bright.
No, the Colts would have won another Super Bowl by now if they had kept Manning.
Don't know; don't care
