---- — The current Senate bill that allows illegal immigrants to gain citizenship after breaking immigration policy is disgraceful coming from legislators elected to represent the American people. One might wonder who these politicians really represent?
The American people need to wake up to the contents of the bill that are seldom talked about. The current illegal people will not only be eligible to stay here but also be able to send home for immediate family members to swell the numbers of immigrants allowed to come here by the millions.
At a time when American citizens can't find jobs does it make sense to allow millions of immigrants who broke the law to take jobs from American citizens? This country has more legal arriving immigrants than any other country. The current political parties both have reasons for selling out the American public.
It's up to the American public to stop this giving away of our country. The illegal population in this country sends back to their home countries billions of dollars that never return to our economy. Another part of the bill wants illegal immigrants to pay back taxes, but who knows how much money they have made in order to pay the taxes owed?
How did children of illegal immigrants fall under the 14th Amendment, the birthright clause intended for the children of slaves who were brought here against their will? Not one of the founding fathers would have allowed this clause to reward children of lawbreakers who illegally entered this country. The children can't be faulted but the parents can; they broke the law knowingly. The immigration bill of 1986 was a disaster and this bill will be even worse as it will destroy our nation's sovereignty and prolong the unemployment crisis we are currently in.
Nobody wants to eliminate the legal immigration of people but to reward the illegal invasion of this country is absurd. Maybe it's time to stand up and tell representatives who we elected to represent Americans first and if they refuse then ask them to relocate to another country. I'll bet they won't go.
