Letter: America is an oligarchy

America has become a country led by a small dominant class comprised of powerful members who exert "total control" over the general population — an oligarchy, said a new study jointly conducted by Princeton and Northwestern universities. In the study, "Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups and Average Citizens," researchers compared and contrasted 1,800 different U.S. policies that were put in place by politicians between 1981 and 2002, and found that most benefited the average and wealthy American, or the special interest group.

One concluding finding in the study: The U.S. government now represents the rich and powerful, not the average citizen.

I've come to the conclusion that the global elitists have their hands in both parties. It's a charade for the American people — elections, and pre-election campaigning is like a play to a great extent. A play entertains people while elections and pre-election rhetoric, with assistance of the media, is put on by the global elitists to give entertainment of free elections. In reality, they put their players in place, sometimes through unscrupulous means, and continue their agenda in Washington election after election.

This is why the tea party is politically attacked. This party is not a global elitist team player. I perceive some elected either get on the global elitist bandwagon, or they'll be viciously attacked, or something will be spinned to ruin their reputation. As an elected official, if you're not a global elitist team player, then you'll have a "rough road" in Washington.
