---- — Love, security and significance are important words for a human being. A human being will even compromise, manipulate, lie, steal and deceive as that human being earnestly pursues these values in one's life, trying to fulfill these requisite aspects of life without not totally understanding why. As one examines human behavior, it's quite easy to figure out why humans do this if one considers God in their lives. Without God, it's not so easy to figure out.
Man or woman in the beginning never had a need to pursue love, security and significance in their lives. Love, security and significance were all provided by God and completely fulfilled in those early relationships between God and mankind. When Adam fell, it brought separation with mankind. With that separation came the need for love, security and significance. Man was now on his own to fulfill these areas in his life. Why do love, security and significance have to be fulfilled in one's life one may ask? It's because of our DNA. God put those desires in the human DNA. Man was wired that way from the beginning.
As Christmas Day comes near let us remind ourselves that God did not leave us in that condition. Through Jesus Christ, God brought us back into relationship with Him. As we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we can once again have those aspects of love, security and significance reinstated into our lives the way it should be. Thank God for Christmas.
